All-new Zomby tracks, including a collaboration with Actress (2010)

From Fader Mag:

However difficult you want to say Zomby is (not more than a couple hours ago he went on an extended twitter rant about meatheads, dubstep, journalists and Ableton), dude continues to push boundaries in all sorts of different directions. His trick is that it’s all wildly listenable and accessible—and, ultimately genreless. Unless you want to just call it dance music, which it is. Who knows if either “She Loves Me” or “She Loves Me Not” will ever be released on any kind of record, but for now you can stream them below or directly (along with a brief, significantly smoother untitled track) from his Soundcloud page.

Zomby keeps busy with a couple new collabos with another recent favorite Actress and a handful of insane solo jungle tracks that weirdly just gave us a flashback to Tower Records circa 1997.

Zomby - Float (Skream's I Was At Infant School, Where Was You In '92 Remix) (2009)

Funny title, blaring track. I've had this one for a while and just remembered to post it on here. Skream takes the dubstep-influenced Zomby track "Float" and molds it into an all-out classic rave anthem. The samples are sped up, there are much more dubstep sounds, and an insane break that will make anyone, anyone, get up and tear something apart. This track is not meant to be played at low volume, so sit down, blare your speakers, and rock out.

New Zomby: “Balloon People,” “Operator” and “Galapagos”

From Fader Mag:

Leave it to Zomby to randomly put three new crazy ass songs on MySpace rather than whatever the newest way to give away music is—Soundcloud, Twitter, eating a flashdrive and pooping it into the ocean. Maybe he read about people not using MySpace anymore and decided that was a good reason to hide some songs on there or maybe he just makes so much good shit he can spread the wealth. Regardless and as usual, the three songs are as varied in style as they can possibly be, ranging from funky to kind of downtempo dub weirdness to, like, techno? Who knows. We’ll probably get yelled at by some British people in the comments for mislabeling them anyway, but THIS DUDE KNOWS NO LABELS, BRITISH PEOPLE. If you haven’t already read our cover interview with Zomby and listen to the new songs at MySpace.

Zomby - Digital Flora (2009)

Under a new genre called brainmath (which I don't approve of), Zomby's new release shows more of his minimal electronic genius. The A-side, "Digital Flora", has a laid-back rhythm reminiscent of post-garage music, and feels almost coming down from a rave almost. The melody in this song is up there with his best, easily. Right after, he comes with the more "avant-garde techno" sound he's known for with "Digital Fauna"; a very playful beat here, the one true track he has produced that reminds me of early AFX...who's he trying to top here?
